Presentation

The Škerlj Agroutourism Farm is located right in the heart of the Karst in Tomaj and is the perfect starting point for excursions, hike, and bike rides through the Karst.

If you are not in the mood for exploring the Karst, the Škerljs will spoil you with some culinary delights and a bit of relaxation by the pool. This family has tended to the farm for several generations, as the first mentions of the farm date back to 1630. Ever since the Škerljs have been making a living with viticulture, curing prosciutto, selling fruit and vegetables, and with beekeeping. Since 1995 they have been welcoming guests, offering them home cooked delicacies and a place to rest their weary bones.

In addition to teran and other premium wines, the Škerlj family is famous for their cured meats, and most famous of course for their prosciutto, which is cured in the Karst bora winds for up to 3 years. On the weekends they cook up specialties from the Karst. Guests are served homemade salamis, pastas, dumplings, roasts, honey ice cream, and many more delicacies. The farm also offers wines, prosciutto and other cured meats, honey, homemade juices, jams, and whatever fruit is in season.
